This two-story colonial was constructed as a luxury home on a golf course in 1979. Although the golf course views were fabulous, the home had never been updated. A failed toilet flange, left unattended for years, resulted in rotted sub floors and floor joists. When the toilet began to lean, the homeowners, now desperately needing repairs, decided to include renovating the out dated and inefficient bathroom and dressing area. Eliminating the wasted square footage of the dressing area, and incorporating it into the bath design, created sufficient space for a modern, functional and classic bathroom. Enlarging the closet and relocating the access door to the closet added the space needed to create a spacious owner’s retreat. Rearranging the placement of the toilet and tub, and converting the tub to a shower, provided handicap accessibility for the anticipated arrival of an elderly parent. Finishing touches include Carrara marble caps, counter tops and a floating bench seat. A floor to ceiling glass tile banner completes the elegance of the new design.
