“Opening Up” kitchens by removing walls is a common refrain in kitchen design. That may be the only “common” thing in this redesigned kitchen. Creatively concealing a beam and duct work in a unique three stepped structural soffit was only the beginning of this successful lifestyle transformation. Dated design and functional obsolescence gave way to a truly beautiful open plan complete with locally milled moldings, hand turned island legs and imported tiles. Careful long-term planning and collaboration between contractor and a homeowner with an exceptional eye for detail yielded another award winning design.
